In order to solidly promote the certification of engineering education majors, on July 21, the School of Marine Science and Engineering held an online mobilization meeting for the application of engineering education professional certification to fully deploy the preparation for certification applications. Members of the party and government leadership team, heads of various majors and key teachers attended the meeting.
Wang Weiyi, secretary of the party committee of the college, put forward specific requirements from the perspective of party building leadership. He stressed that the certification of engineering education majors has a significant role in promoting the construction of engineering majors, and obtaining certification will greatly enhance the international recognition of the profession. It is necessary to establish a working mechanism of joint management of the party and government and the coordinated participation of all staff, combine certification work with theme education, pay close attention to the construction of work style, and ensure the smooth progress of certification work with high-quality party building.
Dean Feng Daolun pointed out in his mobilization speech that engineering education professional certification is an internationally accepted engineering education quality assurance system and an important starting point for promoting the construction of professional connotation. He stressed that the whole college should have a deep understanding of the strategic significance of certification work to improve the quality of talent training and enhance professional competitiveness, and effectively integrate certification standards into the whole process of education and teaching. Each major should systematically sort out the advantages and shortcomings according to the certification requirements, promote construction and reform with evaluation, and promote the high-quality development of professional construction.
Vice President Guo Jiamin made work arrangements around the specific implementation of the certification application. He interpreted the core indicators of the certification standards in detail, clarified the leaders and task division of each major, and formulated a phased work plan of mobilization training-material preparation-on-campus review-revision and improvement-formal submission. The meeting required all majors to strictly grasp the time node, complete the writing of self-evaluation reports and the collation of supporting materials against the benchmark.
In the seminar session, the heads of each major reported on the preliminary preparation and conducted in-depth discussions on key issues such as curriculum system optimization and graduation requirements achievement evaluation. The participants unanimously said that they will go all out to do a good job in certification application and take certification as an opportunity to promote professional construction to a new level.
